How are they ripping you off this time?

do what i do: call them up and tell them you want to cancel service. you can't say "i will cancel if you dont lower my rate", that won't work because you're talking to the wrong person. when you say "i want to cancel" they transfer you to a specialist.

tell them you can get dsl for cheaper and since you only ever check email you don't care if it's slower. steer the conversation into getting a 6-month promo. you might not even have to steer it. they'll whine about how they never do this for anyone and how you won't be able to do it again. then, 6 months later, you do it again.

i have a friend who once had to suffer 2 days without internet when comcast called his bluff. they called him back and offered him a promo with free reconnect. i've done this about 4 times and never have i been disconnected.

then it's only a pain every 6 months when you have to call back and do it all over again.

when i first became a comcast cable customer in 99, i paid $30/mo for internet only (dont care about teevee), unlimited, big usenet archives (for the, uh, articles), and fast speeds. now they've taken most of that away and want $60/mo or $70 if i don't pay for tv. screw that.

comcast doesn't read your blog, do they? it'd be a shame if they read my po$$#)(#!@*l$($*@#$#!

we have pacbell/yahoo/att/whatever the hell it is now and now that we got our old ass router upgraded, we've had no problems. granted, you have a landline and another bill to deal with but seriously, you raaaar too much for comcast to be worth the pain.

Dump them! Dump! Dump! Dump!
