Burninating the 2008 LVWHC / Game 3: WHOA Arizona
This morning's game was, in a word, crappy. More accurately, it was, in three words, crappy for me. I simply didn't have my legs under me. I could skate hard for about ten seconds every shift, and then, nothing. At one point, I tried to get to the bench and fell flat on my stomach. My legs were so tired that I considered crawling the final ten feet to the bench. Oof.
Fortunately, the Ellen-Sharon-Lindsay (in order of LW-C-RW) line was not crappy, and they each scored a goal to give us a 3-2 win.
The other team had a short bench and a couple younger players who would try to skate the puck all the way through. Their strategy seemed to be (1) younger players take the puck and try to score and (2) everyone else try to body the opponent. I got hip checked in the 3rd period and went flying, doing a 360 midair before landing. Fortunately, it was more spectacular than painful, and at least the girl who sent me flying asked if I was okay afterward. Wasn't too happy with the refs, though, who didn't take this game seriously at all. Hello, you get paid to take this seriously. I know it's Vegas and all, but you're a ref; your job is to be serious.
After the game, Becky found a broken donkey head in her bag, and I found an apple in mine. I gave Becky the apple so she would have something whole. She had Gerald draw a face on it and then named it Adam. That reminds me, Sharon didn't end up eating the pineapple last night. Instead, she made a face for it with masking tape and named it Bandit. What hockey bag prize will tomorrow's game bring? Only time will tell.
Right now, I feel like ass. I am tired as all hell and I don't know why. I really hope I feel good enough to play in the championship game tomorrow. I want to help win that big trophy!
