I Would Have Preferred Red

My car got hit by a paintball Friday night. Aaron and I were driving down 680 around 7:30, and all of a sudden we heard a loud "THWACK!" "What kind of crazy rock was that?" I thought. A quick inspection of the windshield turned up nothing, but then I looked right and saw a big paint splat on the passenger's side window.

If this were 3 or 4 years ago, I'd have been pissed. Fortunately, I'm much less neurotic about my car now. Since there was no permanent damage and not much I could do about it anyway, it didn't really bother me. Aaron reported it to the CHP and we washed the paint off when we got back to his place.

But not before taking a picture:

I guess I could say, "Don't those people have anything better to do?" but shooting at stuff is fun, and if I operated on a different scale of what's acceptable and what's not perhaps I'd find paintballing passing cars from the side of the freeway at the top of my list, too.

Or not. It was kinda cold out.

I'm just glad that no one was hurt! Which freeway? Where?

hrm. i live off 680 (alum rock). our house has been hit by paintballs twice in the last 3 years, one the other day and it cracked a very expensive window. good thing we're renting, i hate to think how much it'll cost to replace it.

It was 680S between Mission and Scott Creek, just after Mission. I was in the right lane, so I guess I made for the closest target. Glad my window didn't break.

At least it was _just_ a paintball! I hope the CHPpies can track who's popping cars 'cause it might cause an accident or the dumbbutts responsible may just escalate to another sort of weapon...eeee
