Freestyle Is Back

I can do it again. Freestyle down the length of the pool without stopping. Hooray.

After a while I need air more often than every four strokes, though. Breathing every two strokes is too often, so we tried to teach me to breathe on both sides so I could do every three strokes. What happens when I try to breathe on the other side? I forget what I'm doing midstroke, my arms go blaaah, my body folds, and I take a big gulp of water.

Not so aquatically ambidexterous yet, me.

3-2-3-2 as an option. The bilateral breathing is good for ya' and your stroke (keep working on it for sure). Think of single-sided breathing like walking with a limp....kinda messes up the stroke/muscles/joins.

How's that kick coming?

I don't know ... that might mean I'm sometimes forgetting to kick? My feet don't sink, though, so I guess that's a good sign. :)

Breathing every 3rd is hard! But better for your muscles. I have honkin' shoulder muscle on the right from breathing on the right all the time.
