Bike Blah Blah
Rode super slow into work today. I hadn't been on my bike in two weeks, hadn't ridden anywhere but to and from work in over a month, and am still feeling meh from being sick last week, so I guess I didn't expect any different. I caught about every red light on the way, which didn't help my time or pace any.
After my mind settled into its usual state of Central Expressway boredom, I started thinking about all the bills I paid last night, which included my share of the ER and ambulance bills from my Burning Man eye adventure last month. I calculated the total cost of my little accident. Ambulance + ER + taxi + eye doctor + steriod drops + random items such as me eye patch (ARRR!) = something just over $1,200. That's a good chunk of the cost of the road bike I want.
Good job, me.
Speaking of accidents, the doctor and physical therapy visits from my little mountain biking tumble earlier this year have themselves totalled a few hundred dollars. If I factor that in, the total cost of my accidents this year would have bought me exactly the bike I want, plus accessories.
Really good job, me.

Ugh, I relate. I just got the MRI and Xray bills and am eagerly anticipating the steroid injection procedure bill. Garrarghghg!

Allo, Big V! Yeah, BM and busted eye are old news now. The eye is fully healed now, phew. Injuries suck, and so do the resulting medical bills!
