Bye Bye Blondie
After weeks of thinking about it, I finally bleached my roots and dyed my hair red. Well, sort of. It's something of a burgundy-ish color. Not quite the deep vibrant red I had in mind, but deep and vibrant in its own way, which is fine too. Not sure how it'll look with all the red shirts I own, though. Hrmm.
My original color choice was Manic Panic Infra Red, which, on the hair sample at the store, looked like the deep vibrant red I was after. It didn't have quite the same effect on my hair. I ended up looking like Raggedy Ann. No thank you!
I decided a deeper red was not the way to go. Perhaps purple would be better? I went to the store and picked up a jar of Manic Panic Ultra Violet. I'm starting to wonder whether I pick hair colors by how cool their names sound. I probably do.
Anyway, I got home and applied the Ultraviolet over the Raggedy Annfrared. I had no idea how it was going to turn out, but I figured it'd at least be better than what I already had. I had dinner, washed it out, and voila! Burgundy-ish!
I notice that the dye leaves my hair in a softer, less frizzy state than the bleach does. I'm pretty happy about that, since it means I'll be able to use less product on it.
Finally, the new color lends itself to... hairclips! What a strange idea. I don't think I've ever used hairclips. They're not exactly a really long or really short hair thing. I guess that means my hair's not really short anymore.
