SoopahViv: i'm too lazy to turn around, so i'm vnc'ed into my desktop from my laptop with my feet on my bed

strange, slightly off-topic geek-y comment. You should vnc into your desktop from your desktop. If you want to move, you can vnc from your laptop into that window and work as if nothing changed except the location since you're working from the same session.

When I try to vnc from a machine into itself, I get crazy window recursion until it craches. Perhaps I'm not understanding what you're saying?
