Bandits Game 4: Wall of Tuna

Note to self: try to play against other adults when possible. They're slower and tire more easily.

Not like the three 15 year olds we faced tonight. Holy crap. They scored 7 goals on their first 10 shots, all taken in the first 10 minutes of the game. They were pretty goals, too.

After the 7th goal, one of them told the other two to stop shooting. He meant it too, because when one of the other ones wanted to keep scoring, he stole the puck from him.

So, thanks to fifteen year old number one (I don't actually know that all three of them are 15, but let's just go with that for now), the other team finished the game with 7 goals total.

We finished with 1 goal, but not for lack of trying. Red was just a wall tonight.

A big wall of tuna, actually.

A 12" Subway sandwich wall of tuna, to be exact.

Tuna, the new goalie food. Nice game, Red.

Maybe they were simply more talented than some of the other teams that you have played. Then again, I hate playing the young teams too. Usually, a little extra physical play can be the equalizer against that kind of opponent. That probably doesn't work for you since it's not your style of hockey.

Yes, they were more talented, too. Talented, fast, and untiring. :(

what works against those young-uns is to play them close (physical shoulder to shoulder, but ya' don't have to be hars on em). Since the older players tend to also be slightly more massive, this has worked in shutting down the 15-y.o.'s. Our team is trying to work on them to mature and be more consistent in level-of-play. They *are* good, but unfortunately they are all-or-nothing right now...

I think that's the conclusion our folks came to after the game. Dunno how well that would work for me, though. If I remember correctly they they're all "slightly more massive" than I am ...

Actually, they're pretty small dudes under the gear. Twigs, actually. I'm sure you could take 'em. But first, you must ingest a 12" tuna sub

Will the tuna sub change my name to Beeb?
