Burninators Game 1: Los Angeles Dragons
8:30 AM is way too early to be playing hockey. I think it took us 2 periods to wake up.
Or maybe it was 'cause the other team was *fast*. Fast, as in, I started at the far blue line with nothing but the puck and open ice between me and their goalie, reached full speed, and one of their skaters blew by from behind and skated off with the puck. Ouch!
Fortunately, I managed to score on my next open ice opportunity, thanks to a great lead pass from Sharon. My tournament goal streak lives on! Huzzah!
Totally sucky: we lost one of our players. Christy went slamming into the boards and we had to drag her back to the bench. She's at urgent care right now getting X-rays. I sure hope nothing's broken.
Cara was huge today, stopping impossible shots left and right. I think she's got some sort of special reserve for Vegas. It was amazing to watch.
Final score: 1-4. We didn't win, but at least we didn't get shut out.
Next game at 3 PM.

Sorry to hear the Burninators lost...sad to hear that Christy (my old teammate from Oakland) got injured. Hope she is OK! I'll be sending good thoughts for your 3 pm game.
