Desert Tribe: Hello? Team? Where Are You?

For the second time this season, Desert Tribe had only one player show up. I got to be this week's lucky lone player.

Lucky, indeed, because we ended up bringing on three fun subs and playing 4-on-4. After a while, we stopped trying to score and started passing the puck to the newbies on the other team. Then we started trying to score on our own goalie. Then the other goalie skated up to our blue line and started playing D. It was pretty darned amusing.

All in all, a fun "game". :)

Yeah, then we could have played no-sub 5-on-5! ;)

I went as far as to bring my hockey gear up to my sister's annual cookie party at 2pm, whereupon I immediately stood in the kitchen to help assemble the appetizers, make my own cookies, chortle about the successful conspiracy to surprise Sister 1 with Sister 2 at the party (#2 lives in Seattle) and generally direct traffic. But by the time 8pm rolled around, I was STILL standing, my feet were killing me (it's a no-shoe house, which my feet aren't used to, bah), and I was in no mood to abuse my feet further by skating hard on them shorthanded. Wah, I know. But I *wanted* to go, in spirit, if not in feet.
