4 Month Ouch Cycle

Bah, I suck.
I'm good about not curbing my rims when I park, but I'm really bad about curb corners that stick out farther than I think they should.
Siiigh.

Did you cry and not talk to yourself for two days after this occured? Or was I the only one lucky enough to get this treatment when I scratched your original wheel???

Hey! I was quiet for only half a day, and that's 'cause I was sad, not mad.
And no, I didn't cry, but I haven't talked to myself since 2 this afternoon. :(

:-( Don't you just hate low-profile tires. I curbed my old car once and then scraped one of those tight-turn curbs. Been lucky (cross-my-fingers, knock-on-wood) so far with the current car. Of course it's only been door-dinged 3 or 4 times. Bleh.
There might be some places that can fix it for you. Or if you have a full size spare, just swap it out. :-)

Yeah, I can get it fixed, but I'm considering new wheels instead of just new tires when I wear these down. I love the look, but they're a little too soft (material, not look) for my liking. Even if I keep these and put new rubber on them, I don't know how much longer I'll have my car for. That's not to say I plan on getting rid of my car anytime soon, but I just don't think the cars VW puts out these days are built to last.
I do have a full size spare, but it's just a big steelie. Next time I buy rims, I'll remember to buy 5. :)

Just get a new car! Come on, we can't have you driving around with rims *like that*! No way! What a disgrace.... A new car will come with 4 brand new rims.
*OR*...you could get those "whisker-like" things that stick out in front of the tires and make a scraping noise when you get close to a curb...grannie style.

I did that to my non-low-profile wheels..in front of a restaurant while I was looking for parking. Everytime I pass that restaurant now, I get angry!

Yeah, every time I see that curb now I'm going to rarr. Same for the curb that I thoonked over with my rear wheels a few months back.
If only I could afford to get a new car every time I dinged mine ... :)
