Question of the Day

Brownies: center, edge, or corner?

Sis and I baked brownies after dinner tonight. We gridded up the pan and chose our squares. I took a corner. Sis took a corner too.

We discussed the yumminess of edges and corners. Dad came in. We offered him a brownie and waited to see what he'd choose.

He looked the plate over and reached for a corner square.

He pulled off a bit of the crust and ate it. When he finished that, he picked up the entire corner. He started pulling off more brownie crust.

A little while later, he put the non-crust portion of the corner square back on the plate, declared that he was done, and left.

Center best, edge second best, corner when the good stuff is gone.

Oh, it was pound cake at your Le Snack game. It was yummy. :-)

then corner, then middle, then icecream, then chocolate, then jelly bellys... then tummy ache.

A recap from our team's perspective or your team's? :-)

The ice was pathetic. No one was on it before we arrived and by the time we went out to play it was still soaking wet. Really soft ice. Bleh.

It was a close game. I think your team scored first (don't really remember :-). We tied it up and it was 1-1 for a long time, with chances on both ends. Then we had a nice shift and scored two quick goals (one of which I got my own rebound and don't know how I managed to get my stick on it again to take a second shot). Late in the game, your team came back and scored another goal. I think there was around 45 seconds left, but we managed to keep it mostly in your team's defensive zone (so the goalie couldn't be pulled) and the game ended 3-2 in favor of Ice Chex.

P.S. Center brownies are the best. Works out okay in my house because the hubby likes the edges best. I just need a way to cut it so there are more center pieces. :-)

Thanks for the recap. Drat, we lost, but as long as everyone had fun, woot. :) Hey, did you guys bring Chex mix?

Re: cutting brownies. If I had my way I'd cut a ring just inside the edge and eat that first!

Re: tummy ache. You bet I had a little brownie sundae after I munched down the corner square!

But oh yes, the pound cake. It was amazing.

corner. followed by edge. followed by center. keep in mind, of course, that if there's a brownie to be had, i'm there. er, i'm in. but the corners are yummy goodness in my book.
