Bye Bye, Steelies
Sold my steelies for really cheap to a neighborhood high school kid (think Lowell) just now. He was totally adorable -- he took a quick look at the stack, gave me money, picked up the top wheel, and then, with a big grin on his face, waddled outside with it toward his friend's car, giddily exclaiming, "They're nice!"
After they left, my aunt came downstairs and said, "He was really happy with them. You must have sold them for cheap. Why are you throwing money away?"
I'm not throwing money away, I'm buying space.

Hoo, that took me a bit. Steel rims, I'm guessing. Google gave me the possibilities of fish or marbles.
I have to say, these posts make me really happy I have the aunts that I do... :)

Yup, steelies = steel wheels, i.e. the kind that are usually covered by hubcaps.
Even more amusing, if you search Google Images for steelies, you get a picture of my car, sporting the very (ghetto stylin') steelies I just sold. :-D

LOL, I thought by "my car," you meant, "a car just like mine," rather than "my actual car"! Too funny. I thought they'd be shiny! They're black!
So, your car's up on blocks? :) (are you icing?)

No no, not blocks! :) My car's been running on 18" rims for the last half year. I also have the stock 17" rims in a stack, which I should probably sell also. The ones I sold tonight were 15" steel wheels that I bought for snowy Tahoe roads, before I lowered the suspension, thus rendering my car unchainable. My only remaining use for the 15" wheels would have been for drag racing, and I really don't want to be hurling my oversized jellybean down a track against far faster dragsters.
I was totally serious when I said I was buying space ... I'm buried in extra car and motorcycle parts!
*gets icepack for forearm/wrist*
Thanks for the reminder. :) When I first read that I thought maybe it was slang for, "Are you on drugs?" Hahaha!

LMAO! "Dude, what's wrong, are you icing or something?"
I can't believe you still have rims you aren't even using, after selling yours...! I hope you still have a bed to sleep on. :)

Not really ... it's a futon. :(
But as they say, you can live in a car, but you can't drive a house!

Sure you can. It's called an RV. ??

Ah, yes, those are really popular at the track ... on motorcycle days.
