totally rocks! careful though, your tivo doesn't get immediately updated with the request. there needs to be a way to force a download of the request to your tivo instead of waiting for the nightly update. if there is, let me know!

OMG, that's so funny. I'm currently working on a project at work that deals with the issues associated with client-server push vs. pull vs. ???

If your Tivo is networked, you don't have to wait for the nightly push to set up a program to record. It usually tries to program in about an hour, sometimes less. At least that was what ours does. (Note: if the program to record is a recent addition to the guide, then you will have to wait overnight as your Tivo's program guide may be out of date).

Now... imagine this...

You're at dinner. Mom calls and asks if you can record something for her at Xpm.
You pull out your Treo (ok, in this case, the hubby's Treo).
Go to the Tivo site (be very patient here because their remote scheduling site is too graphics intense).
Program the request.
Continue with dinner.
Go home, check the Tivo.
There's the program - all set to record.
